The second of the forum series “In Search of Reforms for Long-Term Growth and Prosperity” was held on August 9, 2006 at the Columbus Room, 42nd Floor, Discovery Suites, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
The main speakers were Prof. Prospero de Vera, Congressman Francis Escudero, Atty. Raul Pangalangan, and Senator Rodolfo Biazon.
The forum series is AER’s response to the growing debate regarding the country’s future. The focus of the second forum was defining the rules of the game and identifying the key electoral, political and judicial reforms.
Specific issues that this second forum hoped to address included fair and honest elections, the predictability of policies, and the capacity of institutions to enforce the rules.
