The paper presents an analysis of public expenditure patterns over the
last four decades, showing how changing priorities of different
administrations impact heavily on education spending. While allocation
for education has grown tremendously over the years, real per capita
spending has actually stagnated.
The paper presents an analysis of public expenditure patterns over the
last four decades, showing how changing priorities of different
administrations impact heavily on education spending. While allocation
for education has grown tremendously over the years, real per capita
spending has actually stagnated. The paper analyzes expenditure by
level of education, by object of expenditure and by source. It compares
the country's expenditure level with other Asian countries and noted
that the Philippines is among the least spenders relative to GNP and to
the national budget.
