This paper, written in Filipino, presents an analysis of how historical
events dating back from the time the Spanish colonizers seized the
means and fruits of their labor had shaped the current psychology of
the impoverished Filipino masses. That despite developments over time,
they have remained marginalized/ deprived of the means to improve
themselves. Nevertheless, this paper advocates that the impoverished
masses is a potent force in pushing for social change.

That for the government and groups that wish to help the impoverished,
one must first view things from their perspective – the standpoint of a
section of society that have long been and continues to be
marginalized.)
