“Building up the Philippines: A Discussion Series on Philippine Infrastructure Development”

Economic Policy Reform and Advocacy (EPRA) and Action for Economic Reforms (AER) will be holding the fourth discussion of “Building up the Philippines: A Discussion Series on Philippine Infrastructure Development.” It will be on September 3, Monday, 12 noon at Room 404, Ateneo Professional Schools, Rockwell Center, Makati City. This time, we will take a look at tourism and infrastructure.

Another Filipina academic has brought honor to Filipinos here and in the United States

Hazel Jean Lim-Malapit, a member of the Management Collective of Action for Economics Reform (AER),received the Simon Naidel Certificate of Recognition for “Outstanding Work in Economic Theory” of the American University in Washington, D.C. Prof. John Willoughby, chairman of the university’s Department of Economics, presented the Certificate during the department’s annual luncheon held on May 2.

Public Hearing: Proposed amendments to the Build-Operate-Transfer-Implementing Rules & Regulations

AER together with Economic Policy Reform and Advocacy (EPRA) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) will be holding a public hearing on the proposed amendments to the Build-Operate-Transfer — Implementing Rules and Regulations (BOT-IRR) on May 10, 2007, Thursday, 1:00 pm-6:00 pm at the Garden Ballroom of EDSA Shangri-la Hotel, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
