All she wanted was a warm bed, a loving family, a few kind words, and unlimited power. – inspired by a quote from Ashleigh Brilliant

Today is the day we have all been waiting for. Today, at long last, the nation can move on, as far away as possible, from the utterly corrupt world that Gloria Arroyo created.

Today, we inaugurate a legitimately elected President. A lot of hopes are riding on him, let us pray he does not disappoint.

Today I will not be a know-it-all and bother you with all sorts of analytical punditry about the past and what the future holds for the incoming president. You can watch the inauguration in peace.

Or you can go and enjoy the holiday if you really don’t care about ceremonies marking transitions of power.

I hope you have a great day. I know I will, especially when I see Gloria wave goodbye and drive away.

Good riddance Gloria! WHOOOPEEEEE!

Author’s note: I have dreamed of writing this piece for many, many years: short and sweet for a wait that was long and bitter. At last, at long last, we have a President!
